About
Remembering You was born from a deep, resounding urge to behold both the light and the dark coincide.
There is beauty in a poignant moment and understanding the depth of longing and sorrow makes those moments more profound.
Fueled by the notion that that loss and love will forever be paired and that heartbreak and healing are meant to be felt together, Remembering You aims to allow space for it all.
But, on a personal note…
When my Dad died a few years back, I expereinced true and tangible loss. I had witnessed my vibrant, genuine, loving gentle father lose himself in to the unknown of his disassembling mind.
I had witnessed human suffering.
During the incessant years of watching him slip away little by little, I learned to trust my intuition and I made it a priority to provide my dad with a happy rest of his life. What an honor that was - ushering him on the long journey, through a progressive neurological disease, from this place to the place beyond. I used that same seemingly loud intuition to recognize that I have two choices: I can dwell in the darkness of his disease and the continual losses or I can lean in to the transcendent light. And I ultimately chose both. Thats when I realized that light and dark don’t exist in silos.
They exist in collaboration.
You cannot fully experience one without knowing the other.
Throughout this experience - the love, the loss and the transformation, I am now at a place where I am acutely aware of the passing of time, how memories create meaningful space of reflection and, most importantly, I can acknowledge how fleeting it all is. But, particularly - I understand the life-altering experience it is to walk alongside grief while allowing it to batter down my walls and sit within the depths of my heart. And that integration of heartbreak and love coexisting within me makes me want to touch the sky, man.
